2012 New Legislative Policies
Crawford Farms Sports Courts Announcement
Dear Homeowners,
We have heard from numerous homeowners via our Facebook page and through our management company about the continuing problems with trespassers, vandalism, and disturbances at the sports courts. Despite increased security measures and home owner and police intervention over the past year, these problems have persisted.
Effective immediately, the basketball backboards and tennis court netting will be removed in an effort to curb further problems and increase the safety of residents who frequent the HOA pool and adjacent playground. Signs will be posted on the courts indicating that the courts are closed. Furthermore, anyone found inside the fencing will be considered a trespasser and will be subject to arrest.
While the board of directors regrets having to do this, we cannot ignore the issues of safety and concerns raised by our residents. We will look into possible options and associated costs for re-opening the courts but only if and when we feel we have developed (and can afford) a suitable solution. Please understand that there is no timeframe or deadline for these plans.
So for the time being, and in the best interest of our residents, we feel we must take this action to maintain the integrity of our facilities and neighborhood.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Golden Triangle Update
Q.: THE TEMP TRAFFIC LIGHT AT CRAWFORD FARMS DRIVE AND RANCHO PLACE WAS INSTALLED IN THE LAST WEEK OR SO. WILL THIS LIGHT BE ON A TIMER OR HAVE SOME KIND OF PROXIMITY SENSOR? IF IT’S ON A TIMER, HOW MUCH LEEWAY IS THERE IN SETTING THE TIMING SO THE RESIDENTS IN CRAWFORD FARMS CAN TURN LEFT WITHOUT WAITING TOO LONG FOR THE LIGHT TO CHANGE?
A.: THE TEMPORARY TRAFFIC SIGNALS ARE SET UP WITH VIDEO CAMERA DETECTION. WHEN THE SYSTEM DETECTS ANY VEHICLES, THE LIGHTS WILL CHANGE ACCORDINGLY. HOWEVER, THE SIGNALS HAVE A TIME LIMIT ON GREEN WHICH IS BASED ON THE VOLUMES OF TRAFFIC FOR EACH LEG OF THE INTERSECTION. MORE TRAFFIC GETS MORE GREEN TIME. THEY ARE SET UP THIS WAY TO PROVIDE THE BEST OPTIMIZED OPERATION POSSIBLE.
Q.: WHAT IS THE TIMEFRAME FOR THE TEMPORARY TRAFFIC LIGHT AT CRAWFORD FARMS DRIVE AND RANCHO PLACE?
A.: TEMPORARY SIGNALS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AT CRAWFORD FARMS/RANCHO PLACE AND BEACH STREET. WE ARE JUST WAITING ON TRI-COUNTY TO PROVIDE POWER DROPS AT THESE LOCATIONS.
Q.: IS A TRAFFIC LIGHT PLANNED FOR OLD DENTON ROAD AND GOLDEN TRIANGLE BLVD? IF SO, WHAT IS THE TIMEFRAME FOR THIS LIGHT?
A.: TEMPORARY TRAFFIC SIGNALS ARE BEING PLANNED FOR OLD DENTON ROAD. WE HAVE SOME CHANGES TO THE TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN AT THIS INTERSECTION AND THESE REVISIONS ARE BEING INCORPORATED INTO THE TEMPORARY SIGNAL LAYOUTS. ONCE THESE CHANGES HAVE BEEN FINALIZED, WE CAN PROCEED WITH INSTALLING THE SIGNALS.
Q.: ARE LIGHTS PLANNED FOR THE MEDIAN ALONG GOLDEN TRIANGLE BLVD? THE EARLIER INTERSECTION WORK AT BEACH AND GTB INCLUDED MEDIAN LIGHTS. I WAS WONDERING HOW FAR ALONG GTB THEY WERE PLANNED FOR.
A.: THE CITY HAS REQUESTED TO ADD LUMINARIES THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE PROJECT FROM IH-35 TO US 377. THE PLANS HAVE NOT BEEN FINALIZED YET AND THEREFORE I DO NOT HAVE THE SPECIFICS TO PROVIDE YOU. WHEN I FIND OUT MORE, I CAN PROVIDE THAT INFORMATION TO YOU.
